1997 Aug. 20 The Vagabond Players Theatre Company is founded in Santa Monica, California.
Nov. 12 First Production (“The Monkey’s Paw,” by W.W. Jacobs, and “Bridal Terrorism,” by Bill Rosenfield) premieres at The Eclectic Theater in North Hollywood.
Nov. 16 Company performs a concert reading of the radio play spoof, “Poor, Pitiful Pamela Pureparts’ Pernicious Perils,” by Michael R. Fife, at the Brentwood Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.
1998 6-May Second Production (Jason Katim’s “The Man Who Couldn’t Dance,” Kitty Burns’ “Identity Crisis,” and Bill Feeney’s “Catered Affair”) opens at The Eclectic.
27-May Benefit performance of Second Production for United Cerebral Palsy/The Spastic Children’s Foundation (“UCP/SCF”).
1-Jul Third Production (Frederick Stroppel’s “Package Deal” and “A Chance Meeting,” and Lanford Wilson’s “Ikke, Ikke, Nye, Nye, Nye”) premieres at The Gene Bua Acting For Life Theater in Burbank.
22-Jul Benefit performance of Third Production for UCP/SCF.
Aug. 23 Company performs a staged reading of an original political play, “Right Lies” by Paul Guay, Marcus Cootsana, and Craig Lachman.
Sept. 23 Fourth Production (Chris DiGiovanni’s “Love Falls,” “The Mother, the Therapist, and Broccoli” by Debbie Korkunis, and “The Usual” by Barbara Lindsay) opens at the Bua.
Oct. 18 Company performs a staged reading of “Poor, Pitiful Pamela Pureparts’ Pernicious Perils” at the Felicia Mahood Senior Center in West L.A.
Oct. 21 Benefit performance of Fourth Production for UCP/SCF.
Dec. 2 Fifth Production (Michele Palermo’s “Labor Pains,” Marsha Susan Meyers’ “Hit By a Bus,” and Gillian Plowman’s “Philip and Rowena”) opens at the Gene Bua.
1999 Jan. 6 Benefit performance of Fifth Production on behalf of UCP/SCF.
Jan. 16 Company performs a concert reading of “A Slice of the Blarney,” by Kitty Burns, at the Gene Bua Theatre.
3-Mar Sixth Production of plays (“Tourist Trap,” by Alice Lunsford, “Dancing Around the Moment,” by David Copper, and “Pray, Pray, Pray,” by Maria S. Hama) premieres at the Gene Bua Theater.
24-Mar Benefit performance of Sixth Production on behalf of UCP/SCF.
20-May Company performs a concert reading of “Poor, Pitiful Pamela Pureparts’ Pernicious Perils,” at the Felicia Mahood Senior Center in West Los Angeles.
2-Jun Seventh Production of plays (“Bye Bye Blues,” by James Saunders, and “The Devil on This Earth,” by Janet Kenney, opens at the Gene Bua Theater.

10-Oct Company performs a concert reading of “A Live Woman in the Mines,” an 1857 play by Alonzo Delano, at the Brentwood Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.
27-Oct Ninth Production, of Kitty Burns’ “A Slice of the Blarney,” premieres at the Gene Bua AFL Theater.
17-Nov Benefit performance of Ninth Production on behalf of the MPTF.
2000 14-Jan Tenth Production, the world premiere of “Right Lies,” by Paul Guay, Marcus Cootsona, and Craig Lachman, opens at the Gene Bua Acting for Life Theater.
28-Apr Eleventh Production, six original one-act plays by Stephen Patrick, premieres at The Gardner Stages in Hollywood under the umbrella title, “ 6 ”.
2001 9-Mar Twelfth Production, the West Coast premieres of Patrick Gabridge’s “The Whittling Place” and Sharyn Shipley’s “Mother’s Day in the Holding Tank,” opens at Allen Fawcett’s Close-Up Theater.
8-Aug Thirteenth Production, “Elvis Orders a Mai Tai,” by Emilio Iasiello, and “Absent Light,” by Michael Moss, curtain rises at the Close-Up Theater.
7-Nov Fourteenth Production of Joseph L. Lauinger’s “The Box,” Victor M. San Miguel’s “Banter & Vows,” and J. Boyer’s “Three Plays and a Bed,” opens at the Close-Up.
2002 14-Jun Fifteenth Production, the world premiere of “Nighthawks,” by Stephen Patrick, and “The Art of Self Defense,” by Trish Johnson, debuts at the Whitmore-Lindley Theater.
2003 30-May Sixteenth Production, the L.A. revival of Clifford Odets’ classic, “The Country Girl,” bows at the Open Stage West Theater.
10-Oct Seventeenth Production, “Misperceptions,” an evening of three one-act plays (Judy-Anne Goldman’s “Vanity Fare,” and reprises of Frederick Stroppel’s “A Chance Meeting,” and Sharyn Shipley’s “Mother’s Day in the Holding Tank”), opens at the Open Stage Theater.
2004 7-May Eighteenth Production, "Right Lies" by Paul Guay, Marcus Cootsona, and Craig Lachman, opens at The Stella Adler Theatre
12-Nov Ninteenth Production, the world premier of "That Other Woman" by Robert Hecker opens at Open Stage West
