Michael
is the third generation of his family to stride the boards, following his father
Skip Homeier (film and TV) and his grandmother Blanche Evonne Smith. Michael's
stage work includes The Chair, the acclaimed Welcome Home, Soldier at Playhouse
West and with the Vagabonds in Bridal Terrorism, The Country Girl and The Devil
on This Earth (nominated for an ADA Award for Best Supporting Actor). A
practicing attorney and public speaker about cancer survivorship, Michael
founded The Vagabond Players in August 1997 and serves as Managing Director.
Michael’s
acting career began in Texas, where he studied at and was a member of the Film
Actors Lab, working with film and television veterans Adam Roarke, Spencer
Milligan, and Loren Bivens. Michael has acted in classics such as “Home of
the Brave” at Manhattan South Theatre and in many original works. You may
have seen Michael recently on TV in “Guilty or Innocent” as the
Lead Detective, “The Practice” or in TV movies such as “Silicon
Towers” with Brian Dennehy or “The Mendendez Brothers Story,” playing
the lead detective. Michael has been in many Vagabond Players productions,
including, most recently, the Company’s L.A. revival of Odets’ classic “The
Country Girl.” He thanks his family and friends, especially Cathy, for their
continued support.
THE ENSEMBLE
Cat's
theatrical resume is quite extensive as both an actor and a director. A few of
her favorite stage credits include “Nuts” and “Bedtime Stories” at
Manhatten South Theatre, and locally “Don’t Dress for Dinner”, “That
Other Woman”, “Pray Pray Pray", "The Devil on This Earth", "A
Slice of Blarney", “6”, “Night Hawks:”, “Country Girl”
and "Reunion" for which she was nominated for an ADA award for Best
Actress. Some directorial credit's include David Mamet's "Sexual Perversity
in Chicago", Arthur Lawrents' "Home of the Brave", and original works
such as "Bar Struck", "Bedtime Stories" and "The Three Great
Loves of Christoper J. Tomaski". She is a long term member of The Vagabonds
and is currently the Artistic Director for the Company.
STEPHANIE CARR
Stephanie knew theater was an addiction after working on the original
stage production of Children of a Lesser God. She has been seen
in numerous plays across the South, and made her Los Angeles stage debut
in Women Behind Bars. She debuted on television in an episode of
Buffalo Bill (now available on DVD) and can also be seen on the
cutting room floors of such notable films as Christine, Teen Wolf
and Streets of Fire. She most recently appeared in the
independent film Distance, which earned her a spot on the IMDB
Stephanie would especially like to thank Paolo Marco for his love and
support.
JANINE PIBAL
Originally from Wisconsin, Janine’s trained and performed at Lancaster Univ, UK, Regent’s College, London, Second City, San Jose Rep, and frequently in San Francisco and Minneapolis – where she worked for the Tony winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune. Her stage credit’s include favorites Don’t Dress for Dinner, Robert Hecker’s That Other Woman, Woyzeck, Home Free, Uncommon Women and Others, Mishma’s Five Modern Noh Plays, Fassbinder’s Blood on the Cat’s Neck, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, along with sketch comedy performances with Second City and her original comedy troupe Funf. Film credits include Mission, Mitr, Enamored, The Widow, Stonewashed, and The Last Day of Desiree. She has a degree in Theatre from St. Olaf College. Janine thanks her family for their love, humor, and Pibal bread.
BRIAN GREENE
Brian hails from the “Windy City” Chicago (for the record he doesn’t miss the weather). Since moving to Los Angeles he has studied with the Groundlings, Lee Cohen and Adam Wilhite at Warner Loughlin Studios. Some of his stage credits include: Bobby Gould In Hell, Don't Dress For Dinner, The Good Doctor and The Man Who Came To Dinner. Brian has also appeared in a national Budweiser commercial and as Joel Stein on the Comedy Central hit TV show Wanda Sykes Does It! Look for Brian as George Ullman, manager of silent film star Rudolph Valentino, in a short film about his life to be released this winter. Brian is represented by the Bobby Ball Agency. He would like to thank his special baby, The Vagabond Players, friends, family and colleagues at Club Ivar for giving him the opportunity to grow as an actor and for their constant love and support.
BRYAN KEITH
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, where he developed an extensive background in theatre with his most widely recognized credit in the title role of Hamlet for the St. Louis Shakespeare Co. A few other favorite theatre credits include: Arthur Ashe in Controlled Cool: The Arthur Ashe Story, In the Blood, Cobb, The Woolgatherer, Simpatico. Some film and television credits include: Days of Our Lives, the short film Wedding Laine, and Southbound. He has also done numerous industrial films and commercials. More recently, he co-starred in the short film MoMo, which he also executive produced for his company Zethus Films with his business partner and friend Kristopher Cherry. Bryan’s directing credits (stage) include: A Raisin in the Sun, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Two Rooms, Jack and Jill and Pterodactyls. Bryan is a member of Actors Equity and is represented by the Mademoiselle Talent Agency and A&R Management.
June recently came to Los Angeles after performing in Chicago, San Francisco and Australia. She starred in the Australian comedy feature film, A Date With Destiny, as well as many short films in the U.S., including Keeping Claire, Murmur Undine and My Circle. June was a member of the Melbourne Improvisation Group "The Players", and performed on stage in theater productions across several states in the U.S. The training that she had in Chicago with the renowned Piven Theater Workshop was especially valuable. She is very happy to be working with Vagabond on their current production and looks forward to many happy shows with them.
This is Adrian’s first production with the Vagabond Players. He is excited and great full to be a part of such a wonderful cast! Adrian holds a BA in History and an MFA in Theatre. Some of his past performances include: Tom Joad in “Grapes of Wrath”, Raul in “Extremeties”, Demetrius in “A Midsummer Nights Dream”, Orlando in “ As You Like It”, Richard the Lionheart in “The Lion in Winter”, Alan in “Equus”, Hal Carter in “Picnic”, Danny in “Grease”, Conrad Birdie in “Bye Bye Birdie” and as Peter Hoskins in “ A Prelude to A Kiss”.
